چکیده
Aims. We analyse unpublished Spitzer observations of the thermal phase-curve WASP-121 b, a benchmark ultra-hot Jupiter. Methods. adopted wavelet pixel-independent component analysis technique to remove challenging instrumental systematic effects in these datasets and we fit them simultaneously with parametric light-curve models. also performed retrievals better understand horizontal vertical structure planetary atmosphere. Results. measured brightness temperatures ~2700 K (dayside) ~700–1100 (nightside), along modest peak offsets 5.9° ± 1.6 (3.6 µm) 5.0° −3.1 +3.4 (4.5 after mid-eclipse. These results suggest inefficient heat redistribution atmosphere b. The inferred atmospheric Bond albedo circulation efficiency align well observed trends for hot giant exoplanets. Interestingly, correspond westward spot, which has rarely been observed. report consistent transit depths at 3.6 4.5 µm, updated geometric orbital parameters. Finally, compared our previous measurements, including recent JWST observations. Conclusions. extracted new information on properties dynamics an exoplanet from especially problematic dataset. This study probes reliability parameters obtained when state-of-the-art pipelines are effects. It demonstrates that provide useful baseline comparison observations, shows increase precision achieved newer telescope.

Spitzer Irac Sparsely Sampled Phase Curve of the Exoplanet Wasp-14b
Motivated by a high Spitzer IRAC oversubscription rate, we present a new technique of randomly and sparsely sampling the phase curves of hot Jupiters. Snapshot phase curves are enabled by technical advances in precision pointing as well as careful characterization of a portion of the central pixel on the array. This method allows for observations which are a factor of approximately two more eff...
متن کاملThe thermal emission of the exoplanet WASP-3b
We report the detection of thermal emission from the transiting hot Jupiter WASP-3b at 3.6, 4.5 and 8.0μm using the Spitzer Space Telescope. We obtain planet-to-star flux ratios of 0.209+0.040 −0.028, 0.282 ± 0.012 and 0.328+0.086 −0.055 per cent at these wavelengths, respectively, implying infrared brightness temperatures of T3.6μm = 2280+210 −150 K, T4.5μm = 2400± 80K and T8.0μm = 2210+390 −2...
متن کاملLuminous hot accretion flows: thermal equilibrium curve and thermal stability
In a previous paper, we presented the global solution of a new accretion flow model, namely luminous hot accretion flows (LHAFs). In this Letter, we first show the corresponding thermal equilibrium curve of LHAFs in the mass accretion rate vs. surface density diagram. Then we examine its thermal stability again local perturbations. We find that LHAFs are thermally unstable when thermal conducti...
